Ahrong Kim will be at the gallery to share her artistic journey. After immigrating to the United States for graduate school, she received her MFA from RISD and spent four years in Philadelphia as an Artist in Residence at The Clay Studio. She is now based in New Jersey, where she continues to create and explore.
Kim’s ceramic sculptures reflect her life as a Korean woman navigating two cultures—bringing distinct Korean influences into a medium with thousands of years of history, while also reframing it through a contemporary lens. In her latest works, she turns to a deeply personal theme: the transformative experience of becoming a first-time mother.
